There are unlimited amounts of products and services to market, and your choice will play a large part in determining your earning potential. It is advisable to select a product or service that you yourself are interested in and that gives you a reasonable percentage in terms of sales commission.

Also, considerable knowledge about the products will enable you to create more credible ads and your affiliate product reviews.
Most merchants will actually give you a bunch of marketing literature that you can use, and it would be to your advantage if you really go through these materials before even starting to promote the products. A manufacturer’s inability or refusal to do this gives them a poor service image for their company and it may be wise to choose another merchant to promote.

so heres the thing , im an 18 year old kid looking to make a bit of money on-line.not trying to get rich or anything from this. but just make a decent amount like 2 thousand bucks a month. is affiliate marketing the way to go? im just trying to save up money to get some proper investment started. and how long do you think it would take me to get up and running.

If you plan to go this route, be prepared to spend a lot of time doing social networking, posting in social bookmarking sites, making a blog or multiple blogs, doing keyword research and the list goes on.
Also be prepared to spend money. Yup, if you plan on making any substantial amount of money, even $2000/mo, your going to have to spend money in some aspect of your campaign.
Try to stay away from using Google AdWords to promote your products if your just starting out. You’ll lose a lot of money fast if you don’t know what your doing.
